Dr. Nathan L. Lott - Pastor, Theologian, and Teacher

Welcome, and thank you for visiting.
I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you’ll find the blog articles on this site both edifying and thought-provoking—each written to draw you closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.

I was born in August 1976 in Zachary, Louisiana. My father was a hard-working man, often juggling multiple jobs to provide for our family. My mother stayed home with us, and my older sister, always more like a second mom, helped shape my early life. My dad’s dedication and love for us set a standard for how I wanted to live and lead.
We were Christians in name only. Church attendance was rare, maybe Easter or Christmas, and I remember thinking even then how empty that felt. Though my sister and I went to a few Vacation Bible Schools, the snacks are all I recall.

Everything changed when I was 21. I encountered people who truly followed Jesus, not just in words, but in daily life. Their devotion stirred my curiosity. I began reading books on religion, trying to understand what they believed and why. The more I studied, especially the resurrection of Jesus, the more the truth compelled me.
Eventually, I surrendered my life to Christ, and everything changed. Even after being saved, I couldn’t stop learning. I read constantly and began teaching others what I was discovering. Soon, local churches began inviting me to speak. Within a year, I entered full-time vocational ministry, compelled by a passion to proclaim the transformative power of the Gospel.

Over the past two decades, I’ve served in various pastoral roles, worship pastor, student and young adult pastor, and senior pastor. In addition, I have assisted many churches in updating programs, schedules, and their missions to facilitate growth with a focus on discipleship. In each calling, my focus has been unwavering: to faithfully teach the inerrant Word of God and help others grow in Christ.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary, a Master’s in Theology from Liberty University, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Studies, also from Liberty University.

Beyond ministry, I’m passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’m a third-degree black belt and own two gyms. The discipline and perseverance it’s taught me have profoundly shaped my spiritual walk and pastoral leadership.

I’m grateful to walk through life with my wife, Dawn, and our three children: Alyssa, Alayna, and Brayden. As a family, we strive to live out our faith with authenticity and commitment.

In addition to writing and pastoring, I’m available for speaking engagements, conferences, and church events. Whether preaching, teaching on early Christian texts like the Didache, or equipping churches in biblical discipleship, my goal is to bring ancient wisdom to bear on modern faith, clearly, passionately, and pastorally.
